A Good Library

Literature is the expression of the thoughts of society. Books are specimens of the conversations of an age, preserved in the spirit of taste and of genius.

― PROFESSOR HUXLEY

What is "A Good Library"?

Just your nerdy classmate learning out loud…

Literature, Philosophy, Linguistics, History, Sociology… the beauty of these subjects lies in how they weave together, much like the intricate melodies of an R.D. Burman or A.R. Rahman composition. Each discipline brings a unique instrument to the orchestra of understanding, creating knowledge that touches the soul.

A Good Library is not a coaching site or a passive study guide. It’s an exploration hub – a “knowtainer” for those who crave true understanding, not just exam scores. Here, you won’t just find analysis of World War novels, but also the whys and hows behind World Wars, the movements they sparked, and the philosophies that shaped them.

This platform is for those moments of clarity – where you suddenly see how society, art, and thought all connect:
“Ahhh, now it makes sense! That’s what Edith Wharton meant in The Age of Innocence…”

And once you start connecting the dots, you’ll want to know more – about the Harlem Renaissance, about the philosophies behind literature, and about concepts like old money versus new money in history and society.

What Sets A Good Library Apart

  • Topics Interconnected: Explore the fascinating overlaps among English Literature, Philosophy, Linguistics, History, and Culture.

  • For the Passionate Learner: A digital hangout for anyone who loves to see the “big picture,” not just the what, but the why.

  • Not Course-Bound: Content is written for comprehensive learning and curiosity’s sake, not just for clearing a test or following a specific syllabus.

  • Study Notes, From One Student to Another: Everything you find here—articles, videos, audio—is my study notebook, shared in a structured, accessible, and transparent way.

You can use A Good Library like borrowing excellent notes from a friend, just far more organized, well-explained, and deep. I strive for 100% accuracy, and if you ever spot an error, please don’t hesitate to send me a kind message via the contact page. I’m your fellow study-mate, not a detached instructor—respect and community are at the heart of what I do.

This site is also how I support my learning journey and access to materials, so please excuse the occasional ad!

My Story

My love for reading and Philosophy began with Marathi novels in childhood, before branching into English classics. I have also studied the Sanskrit language and literature for nearly 10 years, both in and outside of school.

My journey took a turn from tech to texts:

I started as a Software Engineer (B.E. IT, 2017), but with my husband’s encouragement, I shifted to pursue my true passion—literature and philosophy. I earned a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Mumbai and am now pursuing an M.A. (Semester 1: 9.75/10, Semester 2: 10/10). I also had the privilege of taking multiple Philosophy courses as part of my BA in Literature.

Along the way, I discovered a parallel fascination for Philosophy—the search for meaning, truth, and the questions behind every great literary work. I’ve completed multiple courses in philosophy as a part of my BA and continue to study it alongside literature, exploring how philosophical ideas underpin the books we love and the history we study.

I’ve been a content writer and copywriter since 2017. In 2023, I became a mother—a new chapter that, while briefly pausing my formal studies, has only deepened my commitment to learning and sharing.

Previously preparing for UGC NET, I now aim for JRF, and I’ll be updating this space with everything I learn along the way.
